If you have an existing website, there is some critical information our team needs in order to take your new website live. During your website onboarding process, we'll collect this information and our domains team may follow up if they require more information or assistance. Specifically, we'll need the following:
Access to your domain settings called DNS (Domain Name Servers)
DNS is typically managed with your domain's host (also referred to as a domain provider or domain registrar). There are thousands of domain providers, but a few popular examples of domain hosts are: GoDaddy, Enom, Namecheap, and 1&1. Domain names are typically renewed annually. If you're not sure who's providing your domain, you can use GoDaddy's look up tool:
Email host information
If you're using email addresses associated with your domain name, such as: info@mypractice.com, we'll want to make sure there isn't any disruption to your email service. Often this is the same host as your domain, but it can be different. We'll want to ensure we've got your settings correct when we move to lauch. If you aren't using custom email (such as a gmail.com address), we won't need this information.
IT Contact
If you have an IT professional we can work with directly, that can greatly reduce communication and provide a smooth launch experience. Certainly let your account manager know if that is the case.
